We offer a variety of specialist care services across London from housekeeping and companionship to live-in care and night care.
Caring for your loved one is an incredibly compassionate and selfless thing to do, but it can also be physically and emotionally demanding.
You’re permanently on call, there are no days off and you’re left with little if any time to relax, unwind and enjoy yourself. That’s why it’s so important for you to be able to step back and take a break from your responsibilities from time to time, so you can recharge your batteries and return to your loved one feeling refreshed and revitalised.
Whether you’re longing for a holiday, need to take sick leave or just want a little time to yourself, our respite care service, operating across London, offers you the chance to take that much-needed rest, without compromising your loved one’s care.
Whatever your care needs and wherever your loved one is on their care journey, please contact us and let’s talk. We're here to help.
It’s not easy to admit that you need a break from looking after a loved one. You’re likely to be worried about how they will feel, or whether they’ll continue to receive a high standard of care.
Transitioning to a new carer can be unsettling for your loved one too, as they try to adjust to someone new.
Our empathetic and reliable respite carers will ensure there is a smooth handover of caring responsibilities and strive to build a strong rapport with your loved one.
We’ll ensure you get the well-deserved break you need, safe in the knowledge that your family member is receiving the best possible care. Their well-being is our top priority.
By delivering care at home, we can safeguard your loved one’s independence and routine. They’ll feel more secure and settled in familiar surroundings, which can improve their health outcomes. Home respite care is of particular benefit to those with complex health needs who require round-the-clock care. Our respite carers can pick up where you or another caregiver have left off and take care of daily household and personal care tasks. They can also provide support with administering medication and assist with any mobility challenges.
We offer a wide range of short-term, flexible respite care options. These are often cheaper than other forms of respite care and involve less form-filling. So, whether it’s companionship care, day care, overnight care, or 24-hour live-in care your loved one requires, we can build a respite package to suit them. We don’t need an end date to get started and you won’t be tied into a lengthy contract. Our respite care is quick, simple to arrange and focuses on what you feel works best.
We know that life can throw us regular curve balls and often even the best-laid plans can be scuppered. As a caregiver, there may be occasions when you fall ill, have an accident or need to take leave unexpectedly to visit an ailing family member. Our respite carers are on hand to step in at the last minute and provide exemplary care when you’re called away to deal with unforeseen emergencies. We’ll make sure our carers know your loved one’s schedule as well as their preferences and the tasks that need to be taken care of.

"Respite care is varied and I may only be required for a few hours or I might be asked to temporarily move into their home. I’ll form a companionship with the person I’m looking after and do whatever their carer usually does. This might include support with personal care or simply helping out around the house. As a professional carer I know how challenging it can be to care for someone else. I find respite work hugely rewarding because I know I’m giving someone else the opportunity to rest."
Our Respite Care is based on personal experience
We understand, first-hand how important it is to secure flexible and bespoke home care for your loved one.
“Tiggo Care is born out of my own personal experiences, following my struggle to find suitable care for my parents, both of whom lived with rare diseases..."
Chris Williams - Tiggo Care Founder
At Tiggo Care we understand how precious your loved one is to you and how unique they are. We also appreciate how overwhelming it can be to research and source the most suitable type of care.
We fundamentally believe that there is no ‘one size fits all’ care package and like to work with you and your loved one to understand your specific requirements. We’ll then create a tailored care package and match your relative with their ideal carer.
Unlike some other care providers, we are fully regulated by the Care Quality Commission. This means we are regularly inspected, rated and audited to ensure we are a safe, effective, caring, responsive and well led organisation, committed to delivering the best possible care.
We’re also proud members of the Homecare Association, the U.K’s membership body for home care providers, which holds organisations to a high set of standards and requests them to abide by a strict code of practice
At Tiggo Care, all of our carers undergo a rigorous recruitment and induction process. They are fully vetted and background checked, with all references followed up. Our carers undertake their training on the best eLearning system currently available within the UK care market, ensuring they are well placed to deliver the best possible service. Specialist training courses such as moving and handling, medications and basic life support are also completed by our carers face to face, as we feel these courses are more effective when delivered in person.

Respite care is a form of short-term support that gives carers a temporary break from their caring responsibilities. It provides them with the opportunity to rest and recharge so that they can return to their caring duties refreshed and re-energised.
Respite care may be required if a caregiver falls ill, has an accident, or is called away unexpectedly. It may also be required if the caregiver plans a holiday, needs some additional support following their loved one’s discharge from hospital, or just wants a break from their caring role.
Whilst Tiggo Care offers home based respite care – care that is provided within the recipient’s own home, there are many other types of respite care available. These include day care centres, respite holidays and short stays in a care home.
Although both respite care and home care can be delivered within the care-recipient’s home, home care is generally a longer-term support arrangement. Respite care is a short-term arrangement designed to give existing carers a temporary break from their caring responsibilities. It can be delivered outside the home setting.
Respite care is usually paid for privately. However, some local authorities may be able to assist with funding. If you are ineligible to receive funding from your local authority, you may be able to seek help from charities or benevolent funds.
